Himachal Tourism International Shimla Summer Festival

 

Every year in the month of May/June (last week of May/first week of June) international Shimla summer festival is organised by district adminstration for the attraction of the tourists. Cultural activities are the major attractions. This year the international summer festival Shimla was celebrated from 2nd to 6th June,2010.

Himachal Tourism Kullu Dussehra

It is a week long international level fair to be held in October month. The major attraction of the fair is the assembly of hundreds of local deities with the main deity Raghunath ji. Other activities like cultural programmes, sports competition, exhibitions are also organized. 



Himachal Tourism Navratra Mela

During the Chaitra Navratra in March/April and Ashiwin Navratra's in September/October, large number of Pilgrims visit the temples of Shaktipeeths-Sri Naina Devi, Chintpurni Devi, Jwala Devi, Bajreshwari Devi, Chamunda Devi to seek the blessings of the Goddess Durga. 


Himachal Tourism Renuka Fair

Religious fair, cultural Programmes organized during the evenings. A Whole some entertainment for the tourists and locals. The fair is to be organised in the month of October/November after Diwali. 

Himachal Tourism Winter Carnival Manali

 

The annual State level Winter Carnival, Manali was celebrated from 7th to 11th February, 2010. Activities like Manali winter queen, skiing, exhibitions, cultural programmes etc were the major attractions for the tourists as well as the locals. 

Himachal Tourism Paragliding

The event will be hosted at Bir-Billing in Kangra district near Baijnath. This site is regarded as among the best in the world for Paragliding. Billing (2290 m) is the take-off site and Bir (1400 m) is the village at the landing site.The road distance between the two is 14 km. Bir is sheltered by the Dhauladhar mountains and the ridges behind keep rising to 3000 mtrs, 4000 mtrs, 5000 mtrs and one after the other so as pilot can fly at 4000 mtrs and still watch the mountains tower above. Bir is a beautiful village surrounded by tea gardens and spectacular scenery, whereas Billing offers unique opportunities for high altitude and cross country flying and flights of 180 kms have been achieved from here.
